Help Us

For almost a century, Synthonia Scout Group has been encouraging Billingham’s young people to develop skills for life, standing as a pillar of the community. Entirely volunteer run, our strength lies in the dedication of adult leaders – many with decades of service and national recognition – and since 1982 we have been wholly independent, sustained by our own fundraising and community support. Guided by strong governance, we continue to grow youth membership, deliver adventurous activities, and celebrate achievements such as 800 badges earned in 2024.

Looking ahead, our headquarters urgently needs refurbishment to secure the next century of Scouting. The Centenary Project will halt deterioration, modernise insulation, and add sustainability measures including solar panels. With an estimated cost of £170k–£184k, we are seeking professional support and funding to ensure our building remains a safe, sustainable hub for young people and the wider community.
